Batter up!

It’s still not too late to order your tickets for the Second Annual CHC Night at the Phillies

Although the deadline to receive a CHC T-shirt has passed, tickets can still be bought at the special, CHC price, which allow you to enjoy the pre-game tailgate.

More than 1,100 CHC alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends braved rain, chill and a 12-inning game to witness Sister Carol throw out the first pitch and support the Phillies and CHC last summer. Don’t miss out!

Two Special Alums Earn Recognition at Reunion

Two alums whose mantra is, in part, “Give back to Chestnut Hill College,” were recognized for their hard work during Reunion Weekend.

Cheryl Ann Kennedy ’87 received the Distinguished Achievement Award, which recognizes graduates of the College who have a history of accomplishment in their professional lives or in civic, philanthropic or volunteer activities. And Maryanne L. Walsh ’98, ’02 SGS received the 2015 Eleanore Dolan Egan ’28 Award for Outstanding Service to Chestnut Hill College.

“When I received word about the award, I thought about how I started,” says Kennedy. “It was a lot of hard work and disappointment. My faith kept me strong, and my friends and family kept me going. CHC is the world to me.”

Kennedy, who provides traffic and news reports on SiriusXM satellite radio for Total Traffic & Weather Network, an iHeartMedia company, is an active member of the CHC community, where she has been a Reunion Weekend volunteer for 15 years. She also has been involved with the College’s internship program, inviting CHC students to shadow her at work as well as participating in Career Days.

Maryanne L. Walsh ’98, ’02 SGS

Walsh has remained involved with the College by mentoring students, serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and volunteering with numerous events. She played a pivotal role in planning last year’s CHC Night at the Phillies and has been a strong supporter of the Scholarship Gala.

This year, she was inducted into the Libris Society. The society recognizes graduates of Chestnut Hill College who have distinguished themselves in their personal and professional lives while exemplifying the College motto of Fides-Caritas-Scientia. (Faith, Charity, Knowledge).

“It was so nice to share the Eleanor Dolan Eagan ’28 Award with alums like Cathy Lockyer Moulton and Joanne Fink ’76, because I looked up to them so much when I was volunteering. To share an award with women like that is just amazing,” says Walsh. “Chestnut Hill and the Sisters of Saint Joseph give current students so much and they have given me so much that it made me want to give back.”
