Women's Bowling Added to Athletic Roster

Women's Bowling Ball is on its way

Only a few months after CHC joined the Collegiate Sprint Football League, Lynn Tubman, director of athletics and recreation, announced the addition of women’s bowling to the College’s athletic roster. The program will begin play during the 2015-2016 academic year, bringing the number of intercollegiate athletics programs offered at Chestnut Hill College to 20.

“We are excited to bring another sport to our campus and to be able to reach out to potential student-athletes of this sport,” said Tubman.

In 1994, as part of the gender-equity task force of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), bowling was identified as an emerging sport for women and has showed immense growth in popularity among female athletes, achieving championship status.

A search for a head coach is underway. Interested student-athletes may contact the Athletic Department at bowling@chc.edu.

Fall Athletic Honor Roll

CHC student-athletes continue to show an ongoing dedication to the classroom, with 72 achieving a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or better during the fall semester. This accomplishment earned them a place on the Athletics Academic Honor Roll. Of that number, an impressive 13 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA.

The award recipients were recognized by the CHC Athletics Department on February 4, along with the members of the 2014 spring Athletic Academic Honor Roll.
