Vehicles filled to overflowing. Students and parents navigating unfamiliar terrain--balancing boxes and bags. Chatter and laughter of dozens of new voices. The start of an exciting and promising new year!

Faculty members processed solemnly into Sorgenti Arena on the afternoon of August 22, wearing full regalia, followed by first-year students in black commencement robes. After the day's hustle and bustle, the slower pace had a calming effect on everyone in the room.

HP Weekend Index

Harry Potter fans, look-alikes and wannabes are preparing to descend on campus and the town of Chestnut Hill to celebrate the third annual Harry Potter Weekend October 17 and 18. The CHC Quidditch team is already hard at work practicing its moves.

LENS Students

Just before the beginning of the fall semester, a group of first-year and transfer students moved onto campus a week early. They're not here to get a jump on classwork, rather they're part of the Leadership, Engagement and Service (LENS) program.

Acclaimed soprano and educator, Maeve Hoglund, performed works from her diverse repertoire for a full house in the Rotunda on Tuesday, September 9. The following day she returned to campus to lead a master class.

The first CHC Night at the Phillies on August 23 was a resounding success, with more than 1,100 students, alumni and friends cheering as Sister Carol threw out the first pitch.

CHC's bookstore was renovated and reopened over the summer break. Now operated by Barnes & Noble College, it continues to offer all the traditional Chestnut Hill College themed attire and merchandise.
