The second annual CHC Night at the Phillies on August 29 was a great success, with more than 750 Griffins cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies as they hosted the San Diego Padres, ultimately winning 4 – 3.

Before the game, the Alumni Relations Office hosted a pre-game tailgate where the tailgaters won prizes, played some Frisbee, grilled and enjoyed each other’s company.

At the start of the game, Sister Carol threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Right before her toss across home plate, she waved at the hundreds of Griffins dressed in matching blue T-shirts. CHC students, faculty, staff, alumni and college supporters sat in designated sections of right field in Citizen’s Bank Park.

If you were watching the game from home, you may have noticed a “shout out” by Gregg Murphy, who is a sports journalist for Comcast SportsNet. Roseann Quinn, SSJ, D.Min. was his first grade teacher, and they had a touching reunion.

CHC was also the designated recipient in the night’s 50/50 raffle, taking home $8,600, which was donated to the Griffin Fund.
